Once

My fabulous neighbor's sweet dad records all the movies that come on his movie channel and sends the dvd's to her. She's like the local Hollywood Video around here - even better because she'll show up on my door step and say, "You've got to see this..." She introduced me to the movie Arranged, about an orthodox Jewish woman and a muslim woman who become friends and find common ground, which you must see. (It's better than I make it sound!) Anyway. She brought over a movie called Once that I can't recommend because of the language, but the music, that I found on iTunes, was fantastic. I wish you could see the movie because watching Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova perfrom together is just so... real. powerful. He is really raw in places (esp. in Say It to Me Now), normally not my thing, but is tempered so beautifully by Marketa's voice. I've updated my playlist thing, so follow this link and give it a listen. I've also found Hold You in My Arms by Ray LaMontagne, which I can not see how anyone would not just love, and a couple more songs I dig. (Thanks in part to Ruth)

Don't bother reading the blurb, just click and scroll down for the music...

There's a great interview with the people from Once on NPR. If I were more ambitious, I'd go look up the link... but anyway, it's a GREAT interview and worth a search.

Carli- I notice you have Obama 2008 on your favorites. Does that mean you support Obama? Just very curious, since almost everyone over here in the states with in the church is scared to death that he might become Pres. and what will happen to us if he does- last days and all. Just curious. Love ya!
