Adios, Mexico

Saying goodbye to Monterrey was bittersweet. Our family saw so much growth and change in Mexico and it will always be a big part of our history. Alex was the only native english speaker in his bilingual pre-school and our ward primary was also bilingual and a bit polarized. He successfully learned so much about communication and friendship! Ellie grew from a baby of 2 months to a little girl of 2 years old - walking, talking (a lot!), laughing, dancing, singing. Jeff found real satisfaction at his job and the experience in Monterrey confirmed for him the decision to leave academics for public service. I met some amazing women in our ward there and took a lot of joy in planning ways for us to get together and grow as sisters (hopefully we did some of that along with all the fun!). But when the time came to go, we felt ready for our next adventure and excited about the future. So, as they say, Nos vemos, Mexico!

These are pictures of us in the Huasteca mountains near our home just before we left Mexico and of Alex playing in the moving van parked in front of our house.
